This is a necessity for us on Thanksgiving day. I usually make the mix the day before, and leave it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Ingredients:
- 1 Package frozen spinach
- 3 Green onions
- 1 Small can water chestnuts
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 8 oz. mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
- 1 Package Knorr’s vegetable soup mix
- 1 King’s Hawaiian bread (round)
Directions:
- Thaw and drain the spinach.
- Chop the spinach, green onions, and water chestnuts.
- Mix all ingredients and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
- When ready to eat, remove the center of the round bread and fill with the mix. Tear apart the bread pieces, which can be used to dip in the mix.
NOTES:
I’ve tried making this with fresh spinach, and it doesn’t come out right – use the frozen.
If you can’t find the Hawaiian bread, use Hawaiian rolls or crackers.
